Sungai Congkak Revisit Since KRS camp 2001

After of 8 years, sungai congkak has changed alot. The bridge btw Zone 6 and 7 has collapsed due to strong river current during rainy day. Can see the power of the river water.

Becoz of that, I have decided TTC would not do camping at campsite this year due to risk of overflow rivers and strong current during rainy season. Booked 4 chalets instead. Having a meeting by this week friday with committees about the itenary and checklists for this vacation to sg congkak.

When I back to Sungai congkak, i have tonnes of memories there with my KRS buddies. I remember that they took care of me when i'm very ill with chicken pox. Lol. Went to camping eventhough i having chicken pox.

I remember last time KRS have a camp before and i was assigned asst team leader. Because of my "brilliant" strategy that have caused a teammate got into hospital due to eyes injuries when she decided to dodge "enemy" attacks and hide at the side of the trail at nite during "War Games". Really felt sorry for her.

Because of that incident, the committees during that trip got miserable due to that accident, I'm amazed later found out that they didn't blame on me. After many years, I felt i'm responsible for her injuries coz of my idea that's why it happened.

Today, I wake up @ 8.00am coz suet ching called me and she need keys to open TTC. I drive and reach TTC @ 9.00am. After open, i decided to finalized the trip stuff. So I departed to Sg Congkak. Had a quite confusing journey becoz i took wrong turn and forced to U-turn later.

On my way to congkak was like exiting town and entering Village area. Reach Congkak at about 10.30am and saw a 4WD Land Cruiser @ entrance from the Forestry Dept Malaysia. Walk my way into Zones of campsites.

This is the "Hall" and field suitable for group activities.
Rental : RM 250/day

It's located btw Zone 4 and Zone 5

This is Zone 6 Campsite, do you notice there was like 2 man sitting there with a small camp fire.

One of them is Bang Zamri, he's a soldier (Warrant Officer 1) from sg buloh. He's chit chatting with his friend at the campsite.

I greeted them and chit chat about the strong current of sg congkak during rainy season. He's telling me that these days, sg congkak got a lil wild compared to last time.

We chit chat about honey bees around the campsites and lots more. Nice ;)

Suddenly, the Land Cruiser i mention just now slowly drove to the end of the road where the bridge btw zone 6 and 7 ( Destroyed). 5 Strong man came down and i did realised 4 of them wearing forestry uniform and one of them is the manager of the park (wearing slipper ). We chit chat for a while and i found out that they're heading into the forest to find out why the water is cloudy these days and wanted to file some report on that matter.

So they decided to track into the forest to for the cause and source of the cloudiness. I decided to follow them. I didn't prepare at all for this Jungle tracking, i went in with a pair of sandals and shorts. Terrible, first time tracking in such equipments. No parang, water, food, bags, medicine and unprepared.

The tracking starting out quite easy and I'm damn worried about Liches. But then leh, later i have to follow their quick pace and i start treating Liches with Traditional Villager style, Pull them off and throw them away without using salt.

7 of us track into the forest with a mission to find out why the water is containminated with soil.
We reach a big river splitting to two. We did find out only one of the river is in yellow color, we decided to track into the source of the smaller yellow color river to find out the cause.

Looking down at a cliff where i climbed up from. This is one out of four (4) water fall i climbed today. Never thought of climbing four storey high water fall.

This is why the river water got cloudy.
6 of them. (Landslide)

Landslide again. Climbing over a landslide area, first time. Adventurous.

Another waterfall that i climbed. A higher and tougher one.

Land slide area again where tracking over it means anytime falling into the river with my Handphones. Luckily i didn't fall. Or else, good bye to my hp.

That's bang zamri, Malaysia army, searching way to get over the 5 storey high water fall.

That's the waterfall i mean. Big one.

Rock climbing or jungle tracking?

Sampai sini, saya dah tahu, saya sudah "nak kereta"

Surprised with the height and toughness of getting over that.

I did it.

Before rock climbing.

Track for 4 hours and 7km distance today. Syiok. Super duper happy that today i conquered 2 main stuff:-
1. Liches - got 15-20 times today, already immuned to them de. No more fear about them. If you really had them, just removed them with no mercy even without salt. I do find out if you pull them out fast, your wound will be smaller and less noticeable. Abit different from what i learnt in KRS about if you pulled out liches forcefully then the teeth will be left inside of ur body which i find out later to be a myth.

2. Rock climbing and conquered 4 waterfall today. Dangerous but worthwhile. Nice experience. Have to be hyper flexible and fit in order to do it. I find that was fun when you're up looking down what you've accomplished.

3. Tracking rules - the people in front must be fast and swift with out worrying about the man behind, the man behind must have the ability and faith that they can follow the people in front by looking at the foot print and trail left by the man in front. That's a effective tracking method. Better than what i used to believe, must walk in a team. 4 Man front front and 3 man behind slowly coming up to the source of the water.

4. Teamwork is hyper important, man behind carry the load of supplies and front people in charge of scouting and clearing obstacles.

Great day today unexpected. God arranged this for me. Nice. Free tracking experience. Thought got 8 liches mark on my foot, leg and finger. I expect it to turn itchy tommorow. I will do my best not to scratch it.
